title: "Autonomous Microfluidic Flow Cytometry"
excerpt: "System design, theoretical framework, and technical documentation."
Project Overview
This repository serves as the up-to-date record of the system design and implementation for a low-cost, microfluidics-based flow cytometer designed for point-of-care (POC) environmental deployments. The current focus is on the detection and analysis of yeast cells (10 µm) for water safety validation.
Core System Architecture
The device architecture is divided into four interdependent subsystems.
- The Fluidics: Hydrodynamic focusing approaches, lithography, and SU-8 chip fabrication.
- The Optics: 488nm laser excitation, single-mode fiber selection, and emission filtering.
- The Electronics: Avalanche photodiode (APD) integration, bias supplies, and signal amplification.
- The Signal Processing: Impedance analysis and autonomous data handling.
Live Artifacts
- CAD Models: Live embedded viewers for fluidic chips and housing.
- Software Repositories: Source code for the automated processing system.
Documentation & Resources
- Global Bibliography: Complete IEEE reference list of cited literature.
- Component Datasheets: Technical specifications for all optical and electronic hardware.
